Please read this page regarding samples carefully. Remember, the shades or blinds that you are ordering are custom made and are not returnable.
Above all, we want to help you in every way we can to have a successful purchase of your blinds and shades from the Blind Barn. One way is that we are constantly working with the various manufacturers to obtain color samples for applications requiring close matching.
In many instances, the color samples shown on our site are close enough for most applications. However, if you are selecting for a critical application, we suggest you order a sample of the color you are considering for direct comparison. We offer up to five samples free of charge. A nominal charge of $1.00 will apply to each additional sample.
To order samples, simply click on the “samples” tab on the page for the product you are considering. If no tab is present, that means samples are not available for that specific shade at the present time. Not all colors for all shades are available at all times.
At the present time HunterDouglas has declined to offer samples. If you are considering a HunterDouglas product and need a color sample, we suggest you consider one of the excellent Kirsch or Graber quality products instead, where samples are usually readily available.
Things to remember:
- Color samples on the screen will vary according to the settings of your computer monitor. No two computer monitors look the same.
- While we have found that manufacturers' shade colors are fairly consistent, colors could vary slightly from lot to lot, or sample to lot. This is not a defect, but a natural attribute of the manufacturing process.
- Blinds and shades mounted on windows will vary in color as the light behind or in front of them changes. Sunny days may cause blinds to look more yellow, cloudy days more towards blue. Light striking the shades at night from incandescent lamps may look very yellow. This is especially true with cellular/honeycomb shades. This is a natural phenomenon and is not a defect.
- Blinds and shades may vary in color on your window depending on whether there is a window screen over part of the window. A window screen has the characteristic of cutting down the light striking that portion of the shade, making the shade look slightly different where the screen is. This is natural and not a defect of the shade.
